IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Yamraiha
Age: 23
Canon: Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic.
Canon Point: Chapter 121, after seeing her student, Aladdin, and his friends off on their journey.
Species: Human.
Gender: Female, mentally and physically.
Orientation: Straight. In canon, it’s stated that her favorite type in particular is an older man. As for experience in romance, that’s a whole other, depressing story.
History: Not much is known about Yamraiha’s early life. She was born in the Musta’sim kingdom, a country similar to medieval Europe, and was quickly noticed as a talented magician. She was raised like a granddaughter by the chancellor of the Magnostadt magical academy in Musta’sim, and grew into someone who, even at age 13, was called a “legendary genius”.
When the academy suddenly took over Musta’sim in a coup d’état, Yamraiha was still a child, but understood the gravity of what had happened. She was still loyal to the royal family, who were believed to have been wiped out in the coup, and fled the country, and found shelter in the island nation of Sindria. There, she was welcomed by King Sinbad, and became one of his Eight Generals, the strongest and most loyal warriors in the country, nearly all of which had similar situations in their home countries to Yamraiha that forced them to find a new home.
At age 23, Sindria took in yet more homeless guests. This time, one of them was a Magi, the strongest kind of magic user on the planet, sometimes called the “magicians of creation” for their habit of raising kings into fair and powerful rulers who form new countries. This young Magi, named Aladdin, was enthusiastic enough to become Yamraiha’s first student in magic. Though their first meeting was less than pleasant, with Aladdin touching Yamraiha’s chest and getting a face full of hot steam for his rudeness, they eventually form the close bond of master and apprentice.
During this time, Yamraiha was also forced to prove her king isn’t a drunken molester in public due to a potential international scandal with the princess of one of the strongest empires in the world. Because Yamraiha’s life is hard, guys, but even in times of crisis, one must stand by their king.
After some months of training Aladdin, she allows her student to leave for a time to help his friends conquer the dungeon of the djinn known as Zagan, and though they are successful, the students are attacked upon returning to the surface by a group of King Sinbad’s enemies called “Al Tharmen”. Each of the teachers, Yamraiha, Sharrkan, and Masrur, took down one of the three enemies who had beaten their students bloody and unconscious.
It was after the battle has been won that Yamraiha realized that the former princess of her home country was one of the survivors of the dungeon, and a former member of Al Tharmen. Yamraiha was desperate to make the Princess Dunya an ally of Sindria, due to her own guilt at their country’s downfall and the fact that Dunya may have many details of the inner workings of the organization that was her king’s enemy. It took some time to convince the princess to speak with them, and though the princess was suspicious of the former darling of the academy that had ruined Musta’sim, they eventually returned to a civil and peaceful relationship until the princess’ death, some weeks later.
Following Dunya’s death, Yamraiha made the decision to encourage Aladdin’s desire to travel to the country now known as Magnostadt, despite its dangers, to further his magical education. She saw him, along with the other apprentices of the generals, off as they left in a group to pursue their own goals. It’s from here that she arrives in Holly Heights.
Appearance: Image references: usual appearance and casual clothes.
Yamraiha is a small woman, about 158 cm (5’2”) in height. With her bright blue hair and eyes, along with her pretty face and sizable bustline, as commented on by other characters, she’s rather striking even in plain clothing. Her usual, and borderline scandalous, outfit consists of a green and cream colored official government robe from the country she works for, Sindria, two pink seashells on her chest, a golden conch shell on each ear, a large black wizard’s hat and plain, flat shoes. She’s pretty easy to spot in a crowd, to say the least.
Personality: Yamraiha is a woman who can be described in one word, and that word is “obsessed”. Specifically, she’s obsessed with magic, to the point that she’s one of the strongest and most well-read magicians in the world. She’s been considered a genius since she was a child, and even at that age, she begged to be read complex magic texts instead of fairytales at bedtime. The hard work she has put in over the years have resulted in almost no one being able to match her.
Despite her beauty and intelligence, Yamraiha is surprisingly terrible at romance. She gets incredibly nervous around men she likes, which causes her to ramble on about a topic few people knows as well as she does: magic. Because of her bad conversation skills in these situations, nearly all of her attempts to find a lover fail. In fact, she’s so bad at it, her current record for failed attempts in a row is seven. She has a tendency of going bar-hopping with the other generals of Sindria and drinking her sorrows away when this happens.
Because of her extensive knowledge, she makes a very good teacher. She can be patient if her student is enthusiastic, and she gets caught up in the feeling as well, giving detailed instructions and explanations. She is very protective of her students, whom she considered to be wonderful and wishes to help them become even stronger and smarter when it comes to using their abilities.
On the other hand, though she is very patient with her students, she has a very short temper, especially with people behaving perversely and those who insult magic, to the point that she’s willing to threaten to boil the blood out of someone when angry enough. She gets along particularly badly with swordsmen, as she believes this to be the most boring way of fighting there is. This has culminated before in a fierce rivalry with the greatest swordsman among the Eight Generals, Sharrkan. They can often be seen insulting each other and sometimes even physically hitting one another and wrestling.
For all of her faults, though, Yamraiha is a very loyal general, who can be relied upon to do what she feels is right and needed, even if she worries about the people who have to put themselves in danger for things to work out for the best. Despite having to flee her home country of Musta’sim, Yamraiha still feels intense fidelity to the former royal family she had served as a child. When faced once again with the only remaining member of the royal family after a coup Yamraiha’s magic school had orchestrated had killed all the others, Yamraiha is so protective of her as to smack her current king on the hand for touching her and respects her enough to kneel for her.
Of course, being loyal does not mean Yamraiha is unable to question her king. Though she respects and genuinely likes Sinbad, she is not afraid to call him out when she believes him to have done wrong. After all, what is a friend for if you cannot trust that friend to be honest and to stand beside you even when they tell you that you are wrong?
Abilities: Yamraiha is a genius magician. With this rank, earned through natural talent and years of study, she can perform a lot of powerful magic using a tool to focus it through. In her case, it’s a large staff.
Magoi, which is basically life force that can be used in magic, can be manipulated to create various kinds of magic basic magic. Using it, Yamraiha can create a “borg”, which functions as a shield against magical and physical attacks to a certain degree. Though her borg is very strong due to her own strength with magic, enough pressure (such as that of a few strong laser beams focused on one spot) can cause it to break. Magoi can also be used to shoot out energy blast attacks, which is effective against most opponents weaker than she is, but it is inefficient and uses more energy than a powerful spell might.
By using magoi to create more complex spells, Yamraiha has been shown to be able to manipulate water, heat, light and gravity with magic to use as attacks, defense and to simply travel around more easily by flying. She can use many of them at once, as well. Her specialty and go-to kind of magic is water manipulation, which she can use to make herself invisible, create country-spanning protective barriers, and, by adding the blood of the people involved, create puppets that mimic specific events from the past or taking place in far away places.
Yamraiha is also particularly adept at creating and repairing magical tools, such as creating a long-distance communication device that reflects images and sound to the same tool held by someone else, like a cell phone. She has also created magoi storage devices, which absorb energy by being worn on the body regularly, and can be used to create more powerful spells when her personal supply of magoi runs out.

SAMPLES
First Person: [A video feed clicks on, showing a young woman wearing a rather large, black wizard’s hat. Is Halloween here already? She raises an eyebrow, looking into the camera with a serious and slightly annoyed expression.]
So. This place has taken my magic away, and I have no hope of getting it back unless I somehow find a way to make the lessor
[She closes her eyes in rage and shakes her head in disdain. Really, what a horrible place! The computer desk that shakes the camera was surely from a tiny earthquake, and not the result of an immature little kick of frustration to the leg of the table.]
But since I can’t seem to find him, maybe someone else has an idea of where to look. Or at least, suggestions on what kind of job a magician without any magic can do… Uwehhh.
[She’s barely holding back tears, despite the superior attitude. She slumps into her chair and puts her head down on the table with a barely audible sob. She waves goodbye at the camera before she can make an even bigger fool of herself. She hasn’t had enough to drink to abandon her shame completely.]
Thank you for your time.
Third Person: Yamraiha is not having a pleasant day, though it might make the lessor sad to know it. It had taken her three falls –one off of the lawn chair, one from the front staircase, and one out of the second floor window and into a tree that kept her from breaking something– to finally accept that she was not going to be able to fly out of here. It had taken her a freezing dunk in the pool of her new house to realize that she was not going to be able to use any magic at all.
We’ll skip the part where she cried and sulked in the bed like a preteen girl whose favorite boy band had broken up and go straight to current events. They’re very scary events, actually, considering the look on the face of our favorite blue-haired lady as she storms down the street, screaming out, “King Sinbad of Sindria, or whoever did this, if you don’t get out here right now, I will make you regret playing sick games with someone like me! Are you listening!?”
Yamraiha is a great genius. There’s no way she’s on the verge of panic or psychotic, fiery mental breakdown. Let’s hope that’s the case, anyway, because the only thought running through the magician’s head right now is, “This is all Sinbad’s fault... Somehow. It must be.” And he is going to get an earful when she finally gets hold of him and makes him fix the mess he’s gotten them into this time. If he can’t, Yamraiha might really start panicking, and a panicked genius with their favorite topic shut away and nothing to occupy them is never going to end well.
